Year 2 Home learning extra ideas

We would like to recommend the following daily timetable and websites to support your child’s learning if you can’t get onto google classroom or you would like some extra activities to do.

Recommended Daily Timetable

9:00 – 10:00



Maths Learning



·         Counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s, relating this to their times tables. ICT games has a couple of games whack a mole and duck shoot Begin to count in 3’s

·         Choose a series of Maths lessons from the Oak National Academy website and complete one each day.

·         Explore a variety of Maths lessons on the BBC Bitesize website.

10:00– 11:00

Free Time

·         Try indoor exercises, have a snack, play a game or read books.

11:00– 12:00

English Learning

·         Log on to Oxford Owl to access a range of ebooks, organised by colour band.

·         To help recap your phonics and support your reading and writing, visit the Letters and Sounds daily lessons.

·         Choose a series of English lessons from the Oak National Academy website and complete one each day.

12:00 -1:00



1:00 – 2:00


Topic Learning Time


·         Once you have referred to the term overview using the above link, choose a series of History, Geography or Science lessons from the Oak National Academy website which link and complete one each day.

2:00 – 3:00

Chill Time

·         Read books, complete puzzles or play a board game with your family
